Friend, Philosopher, Guide

Namaste. I, Shree Vasudha welcome you to my website

I hope to connect and interact here in this platform, with anyone who is interested in spirituality, life and its complexities, human beings and our relationships, with each other, with the world at large, and the environment around us.

I am primarily an Advaita Vedanta teacher, but I also act as a counsellor, therapist and life coach.

My quest for the meaning of states of samadhi experienced since early childhood led me to explore and meet some fascinating and fine people on similar spiritual quests. Many were beginning, some were well entrenched in the path, and a few were very well established. My world was made up of healers, energy workers, channelling practitioners, spiritual teachers, tantriks, aghoris, etc.

I attribute my love for wisdom and understanding, to the divinely ordained meetings with numerous wise Gurus, like Swami Dayananda Saraswati, Swami Tejomyananda (who intiated me into bramacharya and gave me the name Vasudhaa Chaitanya), Krishnanada Teertha Mahaswamigal, the Shankaracharya of Shakatapuram (who initiated me into Sanyaasa, after which I am addressed as Swamini / Sadhvi Shree Vasudha), the late Subhadra Mataji, Kulavdhuta Satpuranandji, Mata Leeladevi, and many other beautiful people, all accomplished in their own ways.

And to the many non physical connections with spiritual guides and Masters like Bhagwan Nithyananda of Ganeshpuri, Shri Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadutta Maharaj, Swami Chinmayananda, and the Sai of Shirdi. I consider myself rooted in the wisdom of the Upanishads and am deeply inspired by Sant Kabira and Guru Nanakji.

Silently and securely settled in the knowledge that security is the biggest myth and that settlling comfortably, if at all, can happen only within.

I reside in Navi Mumbai, in an apartment rented out for various activities of our Foundation. VVF or the Viva Vedanta Foundation was set up with a group of my students and the primary focus was to spread the message of ancient scriptures through discourses, meditation sessions, workshops, etc.

VVF also gives a platform for interested individuals to awaken and realise their true potential by means of the different sevas (services) created for the benefit of the society.

Reflections on Life, Advaita Vedanta,
The Bhagavad Gita, Scriptures etc.

Memories

MMT valedictory function: The 3 year Maai Maitri Tarang (MMT) literacy program for slum children concluded having achieved the goal of literacy and overall well-being of the children. The valedictory function was held on the 13th of December, 2024 at the MMT premises. Reminiscing the past 3 years and how a wild idea crystallised to create a beautifle shape and left an immeasurable impact on the lives of vilnerable children, giving them a glimpse of a civil life, however short lived. Getting the chidren of a jhuggi together and trying to teach them anything at all, was a wild idea, like hitting a bold and blind dart in the dark. But students got together enthusiastically, volunteering their time and energy and good samaritans contributed the finances generously, until the dea fructified and achieved its goal. Sharing a few pictures of the 3 years of MMT that rolled by. It proved to be an amazing learning experience for the children, as well as the volunteers without whom this beautiful journey would not have been possible.

Celebrations

The Foundation Day on 4th May marked our 12th birthday. A small get together was organised in the Vvf Centre premises. Great day to be with the students and then, they had their share of experiences to express on this journey within themselves, as much with each other. It seemed like some unspoken mutual bonds of respect, love and care for each other filled the space. Just as the mood was getting overwhelming, there was the Shanknaad group who started to hum some songs and there was such delight spreading in the air. A typical Keralite cuisine, (very non typical at VVF though), made up of iddiappam, kadala curry, pazham puri, sugiyan, parippu vada, was enjoyed by all, and what to say of the super solkadi (Very Mahastrian/Goan) which was a real thirst quencher at the warm evening. Sharing with you all memories of the event.

Ongoing Events

The Gita is a manual of life and its teachings are not limited to a specific time or place, but offer universal principles for living a meaningful and fulfilling life. It is one of the most ancient religious scriptures, but has striking relevance to life even today. That alone makes it even more truthful. For something that is to be considered as truth, it must be relevant in any period of time.
